| Please Pray: 1. Praise the Lord! Our time at Jim's parents have been encouraging. They are very supportive of our calling. Please continue to pray for our mutual edification. 2. For our itineration. It is challenging to raise funds to go to Australia. Those who idealize missions compare People picture a vacation spot where 3. For our marriage--that we will not give the Devil a foothold to discourage us in anyway, especially through our relationship during this time of many changes. They say that moving (especially very far away) is one of the high stress factors, along with divorce, financial crisis and death in the family. 4. For the Sydney Church Plant Team (SCPT)--that the Lord will continue to lay His holy burden, and open all necessary doors for those who are praying about joining. Also, for others to start praying and considering joining this important ministry team. 5. For the upcoming Mexico Medical Missions trip. We are going on this weekend (10/7~10/9) trip to participate in the medical clinic ministry of our church (New Life Mission Church, Fullerton), in partnership with MTW. Claudia will be translating, and I will lead team devotions and lift heavy items and take pictures. 6. For the Visa matters to work out in time for us to go out. It is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain entry these days. Vital On-Going Topics A. Spiritual Vitality: That we will grow in the Word and Grace of God. B. Strong marriage and family (including future members). C. Needs of our parents and family in the States D. Cultural adaptation: Even though Sydney is in many ways similar to U.S./California, insensitive presumptions can turn into relational pitfalls. Pray that we will be sensitivity to the people we meet. E. Fruitfulness F. Perseverance G. Health and safety H. Protection from the Enemy/Satan's attacks I. Protection and wisdom of the Holy Spirit J. Support needs: both prayer and financial. K. Continuing zeal to see people brought to Christ L. New workers to join the harvest M. Protection from discouragement N. Power of the Spirit in our ministries |
